What mixes well with rum?

i hate the taste of rum and coke i need other ideas

rum and sprite or seirra mist gives a vanilla like flavor....be warned however, with a good quality rum you cant taste the rum so much as the sprite

my girlfriend also like rums with apple juice....idk it tastes like c**p to me but go ahead and try it if you wish...its her favorite drink

mojitos are amazing too

Have you tried it with Dr Pepper or just regular Coca Cola?

(To those recommending oj - how much OJ for how much rum? I have a bottle of Flor de Cana dark, which I find better than Captain Morgan)

Depends on what kind of rum..

Light, dark, Capt Morgan, etc.

Pina Colada mix is really nice.  And Coke when it is with Capt Morgan;s, since it is a sweet rum and a lime for a Cuba Libre, ....  Rum is great in Egg Nog bought at the grocery store in the Milk section.  Rum is good in hot coffee, whip cream, and a sprinkle of chocolate or a cherry.

I advanced searched silver rum (not sure what type of rum you have) and here are the drink recipes that came up. It's a pretty neat feature at liquor live. Try advance searching gold and spiced rum, generally you could substitute one for the other.

If you are using coconut rum, and you like a sweet drink, try this....

A friend of mine made up this drink called Hawaiian Lei.

Crush a cherry, lime, lemon and orange slice in bottom of your glass. Add equal parts coconut rum, melon liquor and pineapple juice. Shake well and serve. It should have a greenish tint when done. It's yummy!!! ENJOY ;-)

Rum or vodka goes well with orange juice: mix half&half, or 2 parts to 1.

Mojito mixers are also a favorite (and easy, too!)

My personal favorite is a baybreeze: 1/3 rum, 1/3 cranberry juice, 1/3 pineapple juice (it's even better with coconut flavored rum)

Fruit juices taste good with rum. My friend and I brought home some fruit smoothies home from Orange Julius one time and mixed them with rum and it tasted so yummy... And I'm not usually into fruity drinks, I'm more of a beer person.

You could make a Mojito. Which is rum, soda, mint, and lime juice. That's good drinking and very refreshing.

lol. I sometimes mix some jamacian rum with dr pepper or i drink it straight. mmm 40% pure alcohol. feel the burn!

Well, I'm not a bartender, so...

LOL I love tropical drinks but know only a few of them (their names), so I just said one night, "Anything sweet..." and the bartender (a young lady) looked very uncomfortable, but gave me some drink with an umbrella. It rocked!

hammer some mint leaves to get tho oil out.pour in a shot of rum and then mix sugar and water in equal parts.then put in 2 tsp for every shot of rum.put ice in and fill the cup 3/4 the way up with club soda.mojito
