  1. By air or road.

Air takes 30 minutes, two daily flights from saigon with Vietnam Airlines' ATR-72 but the airport is ~20km from the city center so sooner or later you must hire a taxi.

Travel by road has more fun. But it's a 5-6 hrs trip. Better rent a whole car/minibus.

  2. You can fly via Vietnam Airlines - one flight daily from Saigon and 4 flights a week from Hanoi. Airport code DLI, for Lienk Hang airport located 30 km south of Dalat.

Personally I believe the road is the best bet using one of the open tour buses, cheap and comfortable.  You can book through one of the many travel shops in the Pham Nhu Lao area of Saigon.  Though I have also heard of folks using a taxi.  Public buses are available but not sure  what they are like, but sure they are very cheap.

Good scenery along the way from Ho Chi Minh City to Dalat and buses are a good way to see it.

  3. there is no plane to da lat! there is a train staion... but no train..  so its bus , car, or moto bike.... if you travling light.. moto bike is the most fun.... car would be fastest..

  4. Dalat has no airport. But going by road is the best because you can enjoy the fresh air of the mountain and the beautiful view of valley city

  5. road , i havent heard ppl go from hcm to da lat by plane yet

  6. Ironically, Ong Jon gave me this suggestion, and I'm surprised he didn't post it himself.

First, take a train to Nha Trang. There is a new speed train from HCMC to Nha Trang, which should make for a sweet and comfortable ride.

Then, take a bus from Nha Trang to Dalat on the new highway between the two cities. Ong Jon suggested one of the tour bus companies with newer buses instead of the standard public mass transit buses. Make sure you visit the crazy house when you're in Dalat.

DO NOT take the bus from HCMC to Dalat. My wife and in-laws took the bus there and back last month. It took all day just to get there.

  7. you can go either by car or plane, in my opinion, the plane is better, going by car is a bit dangerous as there's a mountain pass on the way to Dalat

  8. TURN AROUND AND GO HOME
