  1. Many breeders don't breed during the warm summer moths. The heat is very hard or pregnant and nursing does.Also if the temp gets over 90 degrees bucks can go sterile for a short time. Some breeders also say the kits develop "Summer ears" or unsually long ears in the warm months. This is bad on breeds that do have a length restriction on their ears.

    It is also harder to get the rabbits to breed in the very cold winter months. They need at least 14 hours of daylight to be"in the mood".

    We start breeding in Februaury and stop in July and then begin again in September and breed until December.
