What months are cheaper to travel to Munich, Germany?

The cheapest months are before the summer holidays!!

Cause in the summer they know there will be lots of tourist coming, so they will double or triple the price's.

Between now and Dec 1,  or January 5 through the end of March.  Both of those are poor periods for airlines flying to Europe, and the airlines usually offer special deals to fill seats, especially if you are willing to fly on a weekday.

I would not go to Munich between Sept and Oct because of Oktoberfest, Very expensive and Very crowded. However febuary is not bad to fly in and out and the weather usually isnt to bad. But avoid May-Sep for any european country and around christmas and new years and youlll be ok.

If its for a quick holiday: Check when the Octoberfest starts in 2008, you should be able to get a cheap ticket flying back to the USA on the day or the day before the fest starts. Fly out on weekday just a few days after Labour day. With a bit of luck you get the last of summer during september next year.

Also consider flying into other places in Germany or Europe and taking the train to Munich. Depending upon the difference in price, you might save a hundred USD this way.

Good months to look at are January to May, but avoiding the weeks around Easter and student spring breaks. Easter is March 21st to 23rd in 2008, so April might be ideal.

There are two periods of time you should avoid. The summer holidays, as has been said above, because that's when tickets are expensive. And the Oktoberfest weeks (watch out, it actually starts in September), because that's when accommodation prices skyrocket. Also, it's always a good idea to check whether there are any major trade fairs going on and avoid those times. Fairs are another reason for hotels to up their prices.
