I am in high school and I am a Straight A student. I have had perfect GPA during my sophomore year and I took advanced classes. I have skipped a couple of grades, so i am only 14 and a junior. I participated in extracurriclar activities such as Soccer and the Chess club. Now as Junior, what more should I do to get into Harvard? I am looking for some suggestions.

  1. SAT/ACT is very important for any Ivy league school and also Community service hours are important too. It is important to stay active with extracurriclar activities

  2. You want some leadership skills and other community services too. They like to select the best kids who are well rounded.

  3. Don't rush through high school, you need the time to develop activities you can seriously accomplish in. Harvard expects national level awards and honors. They want to see sustained leadership. You need to take academics past your school level by attending competitive summer programs liske RSI at MIT or TASP. You should take some college classes and enter serious competitions like Intel and Siemens. If you're math oriented you should do AIME and college level research. If you're humanities oriented get published. Everyone applying has a 4.0 and near perfect SAT scores, it's the impressive outside activities that get you in.
