Does he fall under the:

Emotional Motivate Character?

Social Responsibility Character?

Survival Motivated Character?

or

Destiny motivated Character?

I think Hannibal Lecter falls under the Survival Motivated Character - Strategies. Because he objectively and rationally decides on best plan of action to overcome an obstacle.

I don't know, what do you think?

  1. survival motivated character - and emotional motivate too.

  2. Mean, rude, stupid  obnoxious, underhanded, lazy, whiney people. They shouldn't breathe!!!!! Just like sharks are natures way of cleaning the ocean, the world needs more Hannibal Lechters

  3. I'd say:

Emotional: Hannibal's penchant for cannibalism came when his beloved younger sister was eaten by starving Russian soldiers at the end of WWII.

Social Responsibility/Misfitting Values: Hannibal believed that some people weren't worth living and often killed those he found rude or annoying (his caretaker once said that "whenever possible, he preferred to eat the rude."

  4. I would say more Misfitting-values motivated character.  He is described (i thought) as a sociopath, and sociopaths don't really have normal motives, because they are disconnected from societal norms and values, and essential don't think what they do is wrong.  your typical homicidal sociopath, doesn't value human life and therefore doesn't think killing is wrong.  That would explain the murders that got him incarcerated in the first place. But killing to escape, is survival motivation, and then going after graham in manhunter/red dragon is emotional (revenge) motivated.

  5. No.3

He will do anything to survive, not matter who gets hurt or killed in accomplishing his own survival. He's an efficient killer and enjoys what he does immensely. He's an ace manipulator who enjoys playing mind games, but always with an ultimate purpose

  6. A little emotional, a little survival, a little misfitting values. Did you ever see Hannibal Rising?
