  1. I used to have a 87 Bayliner Trophy 1710.  It was 17 feet 10 inches long.  Similar to a Capri.  It had an 85 horse Force engine.  Force engines are common on Bayliner's in the 1980s.  They share a few parts with Chrysler engines.  Parts are getting hard to find. Hope this helps.

  2. They made a boat for a while that used an outboard that was mounted inside the the rear deck with the engine shaft that ran through the boat hull. I'm sorry but it's been too many years and too many tequilas for me to remember what it was called. It was something similar to sea-drive.

Whatever it was called, the force outboard book should cover it.

  3. First of all a inboard/outboard in like a car motor, second if it is a 2 cycle then it is an outboard motor ...... If it is an outboard motor it's most likely a Force motor for which you can go to a Mercury dealer to buy parts, since Mercury owns Force.

  4. It's probably a mercruiser, if it's an I/O that is. You said it's a 2-stroke. There's no such thing as an inboard/outboard with a 2-stroke, only outboards are 2-strokes. If it's an outboard it's probably a force. Find a mercury/mercruiser dealer in your area. They can help you fix it.
