  1. If you are only a beginner at riding a bike with a clutch and are only 5ft tall I would give the rm125 a miss for a couple of years and get either an 85cc or a crf150f which is the basic version of the 150 with the small wheels.  That way you can learn how to do the gears and if you drop it you will have a chance of picking it up as it is a real technique of just how to pick a bike up when it is twice the size you are and you are only little at this stage.  In three years time you will then be ready for the 125cc so don't rush as it's all fun.

  2. I recommend a Ninja.

  3. I read some of the other responses, and some people were telling you to get a street bike, but it sounds like you want a dirt bike. I don't know what you want to do with it, but maybe I can help. I currently have a Honda Cr-125, and my brother has a RM 125 (the one you were taking about). Both are the same kind of bike. I'm 19 years old, and 5'9". I would suggest waiting a while before you move up to a 2 stroke 125 unless your experienced, and/or want to race. Maybe look at the RM 100 (you would have to buy used because Suzuki no longer makes it) or the KX 100 by Kawasaki if you want a new bike. It was my first bike (I got it when I was 15) and it provided plenty of room to grow. The problem with the 100 is that it races against 125s (and 250 four strokes) and isn't as competitive.

  4. ye srm125 is the way to go the power is there if you want it, you don't have to use it if you do not want to.. it not that much harder to ride get a fly wheel weight it will help out with the power band issue, by smothining it out some, and you wont stall as easily. enjoy it if you can

  5. Well, the best thing to do is go throw a leg over one. I can't imagine anyone 5' tall riding a 125 though. That is a very tall bike. You are talking about a 37" seat height compared to about a 27" seat height on your Thumpstar. I understand your concern about outgrowing an 85. If you can find a good deal on a nice used 85 you should be able to sell it in a couple years for close to what you paid and then get the 125. If you buy an 85 new you will lose money when you sell it.

  6. All bikes have a powerband, the two stroke is just more vicious.Go for the Suzuki 125.

  7. i think the yamaha r6 or the yamaha r1

  8. Yea i to read some response and am surprised people are telling a 12 year old to get a 125 2 stroke. i have a cr250 and im 23 years old, 5'10" 165. i would suggest a 150 fourstroke like a crf or something or a bored out 85 twostroke or get an old 80 and bore it out yourself. If you cant find any good deals on anything dont rush into anything. I know thats a hard thing to do trust me but remember patients pays off.
