Im planning on buying a motorcycle after I take my test in two weeks....I have yet to go to any dealership to look at bikes. As for riding experience...I started riding just last year on my brother in laws 125cc to get used to the gears and shifting (had no experience on bikes befor that)

Now im looking for a bike that im going to use only 4 months in the year (I live in Boston.. GO CELTICS!!!!!) and im not planning on using it for long trips....just a bike for cruising by the beach in the summer time or to the store or to pick up a quick bite downtown... little highway use...so I dont need anything superfast....but I dont want anything very slow I was looking at the CBR600 .....but hear is the other problrm..im only 5'4....

Again no experience with bikes...aside from reading about them online...so can any of these bikes be lowered and if so...how much would it cost...or is it something I can do on my own?

  1. Sorry but your height is going to be a problem. As you'll know by now, life is far easier on a bike if you can get both feet down.

The Ninja 250 gets great reviews and will probably suit you. The most fun I ever had on a bike on the road was on an old GPz305, which even as a new rider I could thrash to the redline. Made me feel like a hero!! Why get the latest hot 600, and spend your life feeling like a passenger on a missile? You'll improve so much quicker on a bike you can handle.

Other bikes that have low seats or can easily be lowered include the BMW 650 and the Honda CB500, but I think you may want something with a faster image??

    Have a look at a Suzuki GSX650.

Any bike can be lowered. You can get thinner seat pads made, and lower the suspension, so how about starting with what you'd like to own, and then see if you can get it lowered to suit you?

  2. well you need a bike really if you want to get lic.. best way to know which one is go sit on a few types you will know the one when you sit on it it well just feel right

  3. Get a suzuki Bandit

  4. well your looking in the right direction i started on a cbr600f4i. as for the lowering you can lower pretty much nething but unless you are mechanically sound i wouldnt recomend you doing it yourself. a lowering will change the stock settings for the bike and WILL change the way that it rides for better or worse i dont know but i know they cost from 200 to 300 depending on where u get it done. Good Luck and keep it UPRIGHT!!!!
