I am not talking ratio of summit to death which would be K2 or Annapurna, and I am also not counting volcanic erruptions. Just total deaths of those trying to climb. I know Mont Blanc takes quite a few, but what about Fuji? Mt Washington?

  2. For being such a low peak without being extremely far north or south, Mt. Washington does have an unreasonably large number of deaths. I doubt its the highest, maybe not even close, but for less 6500 ft its pretty outrageous. If you go to the webpage below, there's a link at the bottom that gives some info on all the deaths on or very close to Mt. Washington. There's everything from skier's and avalanches in the winter, to falling ice and hypothermia in July, even a murder. I think one of the causes of the high number of deaths is that it is a low lying and easy to climb mountain that is severly underestimated. While mountaineers heading to the Himalaya's generally know their stuff, hikers and skiers on Washington don't anticipate the weather changing as fast or as brutally as it does there.

  3. longs peak in co takes quite a few.

but then so does some of the easier 14ers...but that is by simple number of climbers....Nanga Parbat is probably the worlds most deadly mountain.
