  1. A's, I seem them brining up a lot of young players, no one really knows what Billy Beane is going to do. I can't say that he will sign a big name, since he doesn't have much of a budget to work with. As for the Giants, if they were to sign anyone, it would be a shortstop. They have a lot of minor leaguers coming up, who look good. Pablo Sandoval is a complete beast.

  2. Both will trade pitchers for hitters

  3. My guess, take both teams and just make them Triple A teams...please.

  4. The A's are any body's guess. Using the last 10 years as a reference, Beane probably wont be signing any big ticket players. He may pick up and overlooked utility man / dh or a veteran middle reliever but he sure wont be getting into any bidding wars over Teixeira, that's for certain.

As for the Giants, they are making such a strong youth push that I just dont see them trading away prospects for a big hitter or anymore big pitching. I do, however see them trading away Bengie Molina and possibly Randy Winn over the winter. It was hinted that they are preparing Sandoval as their everyday catcher and with Bengie going into the last year of his contract, it would make more sense to trade him while he has value. Schierholtz should be a permanent fixture in the outfield next year alongside Rowand and Lewis, which is why I think Winn will be headed out the door. All in all, the Giants only need a solid third baseman and a solid middle reliever, but if last winter and this year's trade deadline's activity [or inactivity] is any indication of what SF plans to do, then I would say Dont hold your breath for any big deals. They seem content with letting their current prospects mature gradually.
