Nighttime Viewing

Movie screen, bright and bold

cornered by painted wood.

Silhouetted against the light,

a couple, loving embrace.

Caring not who viewed from afar

warm tenderness they shared

their world seemed so small

yet so, so complete.

I paused but for a second

in my walk in the night

to drink this elixir…

this elixir called love.

Homeward then, thoughts turned!

and my pace… quickened.

  8. This made me think  , catching that glance as you walk by the tv screen! Most of the time my head is buried in yahoo, poetry! Occasionally I will watch a movie--  an episode of House, one of my favorites! It's the last thing I watched!

Your poem captured the moment, and the description was complete! Cheers!!

  9. "Hi!",

I got to do a bit of night time viewing with my husband last weekend which is a very rare ocasion of once a year. It was great and thankyou for letting me re-ive that moment within your poem.

    quite enjoyed that.

P.S: The movie I got to see with my husband at the cinimas was (Handcock), Not a bad movie staring Will Smith. Even better with no kiddies! : )

Even more amazing is the way you captured viewers attention with the question title.

  11. Now you have my mind reeling, flash back, flash back, to too, yes to

too many. Wonderful poem, and last two lines, sheer perfection.

Your heart of soul is always classic, quietly explosive.    Bravo!

  12. Silhouettes on the shade during the evening walk...always a mystery.

Maybe the room darkeners would be better...

  13. Well captioned.U reminded me of the 1st movie I watched w/ my, then, fiance. It was "Night of the Rabbits"It was so bad, she didn't let me even touch her hand. Our 2nd movie, she was pregnant then, was" Bambi the Little Deer", her hands were busy w/ wiping her tears. The 3rd was "The Exorcist", her hands were covering her eyes most of the time.I wanted to live the bright moment U 'v captioned, so I brought a DVD of "Love Story", and it didn't work out well. Some how I'm so lousy in reading titles. Next time I'll ask 4 Ur advice .. How about that ?

  14. I'm not big on movies. Even if I've never been to the theatre, I'd still have no problem seeing the point behind this poem.

You have a different way of writing, what I would call, love poems. You come from all angles, and whisper like an angel, but; your poems shout.
