What muscles, if developed more, will improve my high jump?

I love high jump, I'm 169 cm tall and i jump 150 cm (~59 inches) what muscles are used mainly in high jump, and what is the best way to develop them?

  1. All your leg muscles are used. Your core is very important too. Hit the weight room and start doing squats. They are the best lift for lower body strength. There's info on jump training here http://verticalleaptraining.blogspot.com
