I have a 2 month old sports injury that is preventing me from running. I've done some tests and don't think it is ligament or meniscus-related. Trying to figure out just how long this is going to take to heal!

  1. check this website it tells you everthing

  2. the muscle at the back of your knee is the Popliteus muscle.Hope that helps im no doctor though

  3. The three hamstring muscles cross the knee and attach to the tibia and fibula. The gastrucnemius (calf muscle) crosses from the lower leg and attaches to the femur. The popliteus is a small muscle that helps stabilize the joint. There are some other hip abductors and adductors that cross the knee, but everything pretty much attaches on the medial or lateral portions of the leg. Not really any muscle in the back of the knee. http://www2.ma.psu.edu/~pt/384leg2.gif
