What muscles should i strengthen for playing rugby?

  1. Your overall cardio fitness is more important to improve than any particular muscle group.  It doesn't matter if you have the strength to make a play if you don't have the wind to get you there.

    That said, focus on strengthening your core, your legs, and your upper body.  You can find several drills on-line for all three.

    Your size and position is a factor to consider when choosing which of the three to focus the closest on.

    focus on the legs and back, and chest and arms and abs and lower back though.
