What muscles work when you race quads?

I race quads, 450 class, not just trail riding i race motocross with jumps, what muscles does racing use up?

  1. Almost all that use Cardio use.

    Very very hard work when done right.


  2. Hi ltr,

    I'm guessing you use them all - so aim for stamina when you're training - not bulging biceps!

    Don't forget the biggest muscle of all (your brain!) Good tactics make a difference.

You end up using lots of muscles - there will be some arm pump - forearms, triceps, biceps.  You work your quadriceps absorbing the shock of bumps.  One muscle group people tend to forget about is the core - you will want strong abs to help stabilize yourself.  Anytime you have many muscle groups active at the same time, you'll tend to get a pretty good cardio workout too.
