What mushroom is this?

Answer this question only if you have some knowledge about mushrooms. Today, I stepped on a brown mushroom with network-like thin yellow stripes. Some of them are heart-shaped. What mushroom is this?

It is difficult to say for sure without a photo or a better discription.  Are the 'thin yellow stripes' the gills on the underneath side?  Given the shape, I would say that they are probably a type of oyster mushroom or very closely related.
