I would let them listen to disney songs, kidz bop and country. Thats about it this day and age.

I don't really curb anything that my 7 year old wants to listen to.  Of course nothing with really graphic lyrics, but at 7 she has no idea what it means anyway.  She likes Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Disney songs, Gwen Stefani, Fergie, Leona Lewis - basically whatever is popular now.  Of course I'm selective of what I put on her iPod, but she likes a lot of things.
