What music do you listen to when working out?

When doing weights on my legs I usually like Muse (like Hyper Music or Plug In Baby), then some more fast paced Beck songs when doing cardio, and usually Dropkick Murphys when doing any weights on my arms.

That's what I prefer to listen to when working out, what about you?

  1. I either watch TV or listen to Golden Oldies - Abba, Dr. Hook, CCR, the Beatles.

  2. Songs that pump me up and inspire me.  Even typical work out music like "Pump up The Jam"

  3. I love to listen to all sorts of music when I exercise, it makes it so it doesn't get boring.

My favorite bands that get me going are:

The Fratellis (Chelsea Dagger, Henrietta, Baby Fratelli)

Franz Ferdinand (Take Me Out, The Fallen, Michael)

Hard-Fi (Hard To Beat, Gotta Reason, Living For The Weekend)

Teh Hoosiers (Cops and Robbers, Worried About Ray)

Kaizers Orchestra (Knekker Deg Til Sist, Maskineri, Maestro)

OK Go (It's A Disaster, Crash The Party, Do What You Want)

We Are Scientists (The Great Escape, Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt)

    ELO (Mr. Blue Sky)

    The Planet Smashers (Hey Hey)

Locksley (Don't Make Me Wait, She Does)

Robert Randolph & The Family Band (Ain't Nothing Wrong With That)

    Mute Math (Typical)

Single File (Zombies Ate My Neighbors)

    MIKA (Grace Kelly)

Kasabian (Club Foot, Empire, Shoot The Runner)

    The Holloways (Generator)

    Cake (The Distance, Comfort Eagle)

    Devo (Watch Us Work It)

    And a lot more. =)

I like Muse also, great band, though I don't usually listen to them while working out.

  4. Kiss

  5. For the most part I'm a rocker, and throughout most of my day I listen to hard rock and punk.  Some punk songs by bands like Toxic Narcotic, The Stooges and The s*x Pistols are awesome to work out to because of the aggression and speed, and I'm also really partial to "Bugman" by Blur because of its tempo.

For the most part though, I listen to big beat and triphop electronic music by The Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Benny Benassi and Massive Attack when I'm doing cardio.  Some of the best IMHO:

"Dance Commander" remix by Benny Benassi

    "Believe" by Chemical Brothers

    "Bass Test" by Chemical Brothers

    "Angel" by Massive Attack

    "Future Proof" by Massive Attack

    "Blue Monday" by New Order
