I would really like to subscribe to a music mag. I listen to Kerrang! radio and was drawn to that but my friend's brother who has similar music taste to me is subscribed to NME and doing work experience there (I envy him). I'm a 15year old girl and the music taste I have on my iPod is as follows:

The Academy Is...

AC/DC

AFI

Alexisonfire

The All-American Rejects

The Animals

Avenged Sevenfold

Black Sabbath

Blink-182

Bowling For Soup

Boys Like Girls

Bullet For My Valentine

The Cab

Cobra Starship

Crush 40

Cute Is What We Aim For

Dashboard Confessional

Day of Fire

Elliot Minor

Enter Shikari

Fall Out Boy

Fireflight

Flyleaf

Funeral for a Friend

Good Charlotte

Green Day

Gym Class Heroes

Hawthorne Heights

Hellogoodbye

The Hush Sound

Jimmy Eat World

Kill Hannah

Laura Marling

Led Zeppelin

Linkin Park

Lostprophets

Madina Lake

Metro Station

Mindless Self Indulgence

Motion City Soundtrack

My Chemical Romance

New Found Glory

Nickelback

Panic! At The Disco

Paramore

Plan White T's

Plumb

Rage Against The Machine

the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Rise Against

Simple Plan

Sum 41

Taking Back Sunday

The Used

You Me At Six

30 Seconds To Mars

Can any of you guys who are/used to be subscribed with Kerrang! or any other recommend or unrecommend it to me lol?

Cheers. ^^

  1. Boys Like Girls

  2. In my opinion Rocksound is better than Kerrang (even though I like Kerrang too, but...a lot of people think their very subjective and stuff)

  3. Kerrang! are two-faced and horrible to MSI, especially Lyn-Z (It's like NME taking the p**s out of FOB all the time). In fact, I boycotted them because of that.

All the other bands are bound to appear in there - and already have!!. If you see another band you like in Kerrang! alongside MSI, try and ignore the comments about them .

I don't really think NME would feature many of the bands listed, tbh - but why not read both and try for yourself?

BTW, I recommend Rock Sound, Alternative Press and Metal Hammer.

Rock SOund especially, as they're not two-faced.

Q used to be good too, but it seems to focus more on 'grown-up pop' than anything else.

  4. rolling stone

  5. i love kerrang radio (listening to it right now!) and the mag

quite alot of rock music mags are aimed more towards men with woman not wearing much so kerrrang or NME are your best bet

personally i prefer kerrang because i read an issue of NME where they slated fall out boy in most of their articles as a running joke through out

plus kerrang has a good range of music frm metal to indie and have fabby posters!!!

    go with kerrang =D

    xo

  6. I'd recommend you subscribe to Kerrang, not NME. The NME is absolute drivel. Its not about music any more. It used be edited and have contributions from real music fans. Its the Smash Hits for this generation. It's just a shame that there's no weekly rival to it.

But, check out Uncut/Mojo/Wired/The Word if you wanna dip your toes into "proper music mags"

  7. I guess you can look at the below link for whole lot of music magazine subscription depending upon what you like.
