I'm asking them to bring drinks and then I'll provide all the food, the setting, the mixers, the fruit etc. Plus get the people we're getting to mix them. But I'm an 19-year-old hosting a cocktail party because the cocktail bar near to us is just so expensive and there is no way I can afford to buy alcohol for 40 people. It would cost hundreds!

  1. First why did you ask them to bring cocktail..dont understand that part. od.Jazz..its for office people currently..but if they are party -goers..dance music is go..Well behaved i think jazz..for the drinks cocktail is fine!!

  2. if it's all to be women why not look at 20's-30's music the era of the cocktail and big band sounds cole porter

and music of fred and ginger............movies of epic proportions cecil b de mille

it's just a thought food easy to soak up the drinks

small cut sandwiches in tiny triangles (bite sized) quiche again bite sized  tapas as has been suggested loaded potato skins again cut to bite sized  mini hot dogs  mini sausage and bacon rolls  bite sizes sausage rolls  and mini bite sized desserts and flans

  3. Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack (Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., etc.)

All are available on itunes, or you can check out music from your library.

  4. Soft rock ....The  Carpenters, Air Supply, Bruce Springsteen (some of it).... what's known as "elevator music"

  5. I would limit the types of cocktails..serve sangria.....or one or two other types of alcoholic drinks..vodka...gin...rum....

    serve with tapas....(see food network)

  6. It depends on their age.  If they are baby boomers, they can't get enough of Oldies from the 60's and 70's!!  Golden Oldies are always a crowd pleaser for them.
