I've decided to host a formal garden tea party for me (14) and a few friends (13-17)

I've pretty much sorted food and etiquette and dress code and all that, but what music should I have?

I want it very 1900-1950 ish times...

Any suggestions?

  1. classical and batovine ithink thats how ya spell it?!?!?!

  2. Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" is the one most often heard at classy events.

Bach's Brandenberg Concertos would also be a good choice.

  3. mexican!!

  4. Baroque, string quartet, classical guitar, cello music--something classical but without the whole orchestra.  You don't want the music to be interfering or distracting, it should be just a soft pleasant background melody.

  5. Rick James' " Super Freak"....

  6. I would either go with classical or romantic music (music from the Classical and Romantic era).

So that means background music such as Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin.

Or Jazz. Jazz is cool with their blue notes.

Except if you're 14 and it's for the 13-17 age group, I think the people would prefer more modern music like rock and roll?

  7. Anything by Nazareth, Pink Floyd or Nirvana.

  8. i would have suggested Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin but since you want 1900-1950ish im not sure....

i dont know if they even had formal music in that era.....i know big band and swing music was popular, like frank sinatra, thats all i know of though.

    Good luck with the party!

  9. classical music

    mozarts, chopin, beethovin, shurbert, etc

  10. Classical music. Try the Titanic Soundtrack. It's great tea party music.

  11. i was the wrong one to read this lol any music you choose you should pick from the music you and your friends like and if you want it to be formal maybe you could get some body to mix it a bit for you 1990-1950 seems a bit over done gotta make everything worth wild nobody does it better than maken a party one of a kind

  12. 1900 and  1950 are very  differnt  times  but for  garden  parties  it  is almost  the  exclusive  forum  for  the  rich  and  classical  music  is  always the  choice. which  pieces  then  becomes  the  issue

romantic  classical mozart maybe  or  strauss   anything light  and  fairly  consistent.

avoid major  pieces with  extreme varitions  from  loud  to  soft parts. string  quartets  are  usually  the live  entertainmet if  any  so  enter  string  quartet  in  itunes and  see  wat you  get then  download  what  you  like

  13. Classical or instrumental, try Michael Bubble.

  14. Ella Fitzgerald, Cole Porter Song Book

  15. g n roses

  16. Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin.....keep the volume low

  17. Classical..Haydn, Bach, Mozart. (Light stuff, not Beethoven, too heavy).

  18. I was going to recommend Enya, but then I saw that you want 1950's style music......wait. you're 14 yrs old, and you want a "formal tea party??? wow. uh, ok. wow.  Well, in that case, how about Sinatra?
