What must I look for in a good pair of boots that must last in a tropical climate and cover many miles?

I would like a good pair of boots to take with me on an expedition to a tropical climate in Feb-Mar next year. I am male and UK size 10.

I aim to cover a lot of miles a day through undergrowth and rough terrain. Ideally, I would also be able to run and climb in them.

Should I look for civilian boots or military surplus? If so, can you recommend a particular model or type?

Thanks.

  1. military style boots are made to last.. you should go to a military surplus

  2. Try to find a pair of JCB safety boots on the web.

They are great value. I have used them on all terrains.

  3. have you ever worn military boots?  they kill your feet until you get used to them. military clothing is on contract and mostly all the same.  but a civilian pare will conform to your likings and you can get any style you want
