Question:

What must Nicolas Sarkozy do in his six months of presidency to stimulate positive progression for the EU?

The looming issue in the foreground seems to be Ireland's rejection of the Lisbon treaty. What must the EU do to move past? Is the Lisbon treaty dead or is there still some possibility for ratification with minimal civil unrest?

  1. Continue to blame whoever is not making it works his while

  2. s***w up carla

  3. The Lisbon Treaty is DEAD. Thank God for that one. In Europe no one for the most part knows or understands what the Lisbon Treaty is all about. Why vote in favor over something you don't understand.

Do yourself a favor and get a hold of that 2,000 page document and read it. High lite the parts you like and dislike. I am very sure that you too will go against it, I hope.

  4. The EU HQ has done a miserable job of educating the public about what it is doing, how it works, reforms it wants to institute, etc. The general public not only does not know what the EU is doing, they feel they have no voice, no influence, in what the EU is doing. Rumors are rampant and resentment is growing -- just look at the posts on YahooAnswers about the EU. And I say this as someone who, generally, thinks the EU is a good idea. But I'm stunned at just how lousy they are at communicating what they are doing.

Those that run the EU need to strategize about how they can better communicate what they are trying to do, and how they can illustrate, clearly, ways for the general public to influence its decisions. Otherwise, the EU is not going to progress, period.

    4) Communicate how to accomplish his goals.

    5) Encourage the people to speak to their leaders.

The EU needs to improve as follows:

    1) Lower taxes on corporations and workers

    2) Improve free trade outside the EU

    3) Reduce government interventions and red tape in all member states

  6. He must/should work on legalizing african's ppl immigration status in EU, if this Hongrois is smart enough!

  7. Learn from Bill, let his wife do the work instead of him.

  8. Maybe they can meet over a few drinks, That will keep the conversation going into 2012...I saw the Sarkozy You Tube video of him drunk; indulge him and you may get a better deal.

  9. Keeping in fixing up European "Constitution" and promoting in Europe friendship toward our American parteners and friends.
