  1. Your bank card, (to get money out of the wall.)

    Your passport.

InterRail pass, in a plastic cover, (mine was not and did not look good at the end of the month.)

Travel insurance and health insurance card.

Address list, with all important addresses, send yourself a copy by e-mail.

    Jeans, T-shirts, underwear, socks.

    Sweater and light rain jacket.

Good shoes and a second pair of shoes, if only for bathroom and emergency use.

Trial bottles of the shampoo, deo and bath foam you would at home, toothpaste and brush and a comb.

    Towel.

Good guidebook, I like the Lonely Planet series.

They are worth the money they cost and dragging around their weight.

If you plan to camp or often sleep on the trains, also a sleeping bag, but they do take a lot of space in your pack.

Try to take little, 3 pairs of trousers at most and do a load of laundry when you run out.

You will find that that pack is going to be heavy, and that you do not use most of the things if you take a big pack.
