Question:

What must one do to access a worm hole.?

I recently saw this special about String Theory. Among other things the possibility that space is not linear but folded up was brought up and that the quickest way to any point is directly in a straight line and that if somehow the fabric in space opened up that one could go seemly far distances in a very short amount of time. Is there some sort of esoteric way to access these worm holes or would one need an incredible amount of technological power to temporarily rip the fabric of space?

  1. its still a theroy, I guess you better go be a sci-fi star. say hi to Scully for me!

  2. You would need to go faster (or maybe it's as fast, I don't remember) than the speed of light.

  3. Did you read this book? I enjoyed it as it explained things in easier terms. I would not even try to answer the question myself.  Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Through Parallel Universes, Time Warps, and the Tenth Dimension (1994, ISBN 0-19-286189-1).

The book is by Michio Kaku.

He had an explanation about a worm hole.

  4. you should ask elvis.

    im sure he knows.

  5. I think that you would have to be able to travel the speed of light in order to ccomplish this.

I see what you are saying, and I have heard of that, but as far as actually doing it.... hummm... I would love to know...

  6. Your on the right track wormholes are two mouths that connect and are a shortcut through space some even believe that it's a shortcut through Time as well and one can travel back in time with the use of a wormhole but you will have to travel much faster than the speed of light. you have to weigh less than light which is impossible. think of space like a conveyor belt you know the belts that are on treadmills and a wormhole is a shortcut from the top of the belt to the bottom that's all a wormhole is a shortcut through space and time.

  7. yes.....................lol

  8. You wouldn't "rip" the fabric, just jump into a black hole, and if the theory is correct it will shoot you out (black hole sucks on other end is white hole i believe black + white = wormhole). Of course your body / ship / anything would be literally ripped apart but the vacuum the black hole pulls with. Good luck!
