What my father told me: Cool or Creepy?

Question

My dad brought something interesting to my mind. There was something in the news about Mars having water on it. So my Dad talked to me about how you need water on a planet for life to exist. He then said "Imagine there being another planet, in another galaxy with life on it just like Earth. And there are humans and evolution and everything on our planet. There'll be another you, another me another one of our family. Do you think that would be cool?"

Now I'm asking YOU what YOU think: Do you think that would be possible? Would it be creepy or cool?

that would be remarkably creepy...if there was another planet with existence of life like ours in a another galaxy but I don't think there would be another you or anybody for that matter. But who knows?...it could be possible. That's very interresting how your dad put it like that! It really left me thinking a lot!!!

I believe that there is the possiblity of alien life, however I do not believe that there are exact replicas of us.  Even if there is "human" life our genetic makeup would be that of the original humans on earth (if you believe in evolution... and i do) so there would not be "doubles" of us... but it is a very interesting theory!

Anything is possible. It's stupid when people rule out life on other planets, WHY NOT? People are so 'self centered' here, we are not the only living creatures, and earth is NOT the only place to live...so...it's COOL!

I think it is possible because there are a lot of galaxies... and there is bound to be another earth.... and you can run out of ideas of what people would look like... so I think It would be cool.. especially if you could meet them.... that would be awesome!!!!

I don't know that it's cool or creepy. Interesting, given that there could be other life out there, but that's about all I'd say on that.

Well the chance of that actually happening is so small that I would label it impossible... But planets with life on them has been proven way beyond a shadow of doubt..........................

I think that is so cool. I have been hearing that for years-that there is water on mars. I think its cool.. but also kind of weird that there could be other "people" per say on another planet.

That's cool in theory but in real life that could be creepy like what if our planet needs  the space or water on mars, our military would essentially have to fight themselves which would result to a stalemate and every country would have to live without defense on government which would leave us open for another planet to inhabit Earth or earth and mars take each other out completely. Hypothetically.

I read about something like this recently. It goes even further to state that there could be infinite versions of you in infinite different parallel universes. There is actually a version of you somewhere that became a rich superstar just by writing this question. There is also a version of you somewhere that ate a bomb and survived, but that's different.

If the theory's true, it would be cool, not creepy; for me, anyway.

Life on another planet would be completely alien to anything we can think of.

that being said there are ways such as the idea that whenever a decision at the quantum level the universe splits into as many universes as there are possible paths that it might work for that view.

I think that would be very cool, but  creepy. I think about this all the time. There probably is life on mars. It wouldn't make sense for earth the be the only planet in the universe to have life on it. Out of all of those planets? Really?

I don't think it is possible. In another sense VERY unlikely. It is said that everyone has a twin that looks just like them on earth. The chances of them all being together just like your family isn't likely. Though I do believe in other life.

actually, ive heard about that whole water on mars thing a looong time ago...so of course its nothing new.

and until they actually discover life on another planet, i wont care. cuz im the kinda person that doesnt believe in something til i see it...and most of the time i have to see it with my own eyes...not sum picture or whatever.

but thats just me.

I am sure there are other planets with life.  They do not mirror the earth.  The life would not be like ours, life forms would not be like ours, there certainly wouldn't be exact matches to our families, with another me and another you, on other planets.  I am sure there is life on other planets.
