both cute names but i like Miley better :]] .. it does kind of remind me of Miley cyrus but i still love it! its such a pretty name and really feminine. maya i dont like it.. it sounds too simple for mee.

Maya, i think it's lovely and not too common. It's quite interesting and sounds exotic but at the same time nice and not over modern like Miley. Also the name Miley just appeared after Miley Cyrus got famous and it was just a nickname her parents gave her Smiley Miley....so Maya wins!!

I think if you named your daughter Miley. It'd be weird becasue of Miley Cyrus. That's kinda HER name. Like their's no one else in the world with that name. Kinda like naming your song Jesus (pronounced Jesus).

And I think Maya is awesome if your Indian or something exoitic like that. But if your not...it wouldn't be my first choice.

i actually like miley better...to me its kinda country tomb boy kid on a farm which i think is cute whereas as maya is more charming and has somewhat of a sophisticated appeal...more mature as well because who wants to call an adult miley

I like Maya because it's pretty and it's not one that you hear everyday. Miley is a bit to popular right now due to the popularity of the royal Miley Cyrus! The young kids now probably refer to everyone who's named Miley as "Miley Cyrus." Trust me, having a name that is associated with one particular famous person is no fun for a kid!

Definitely Maya!  Miley is too strongly associated with Miley Cyrus, so it's trendy, celebrity-inspired, and recently made up.  Two-syllable names ending in the -ey sound tend to feel a bit more nicknamey.  Names ending in the -a sound feel more sophisticated.  Miley is cute on a child, but I wouldn't want to be a professional woman named Miley.  Maya would be darling on a child but sophisticated on a professional woman.

Additionally, I love that Maya is multi-ethnic.  It means "illusion" in Sanskrit and "water" in Hebrew.  It was the name of a Greek goddess and a Latin American civilization.  The variant spelling Maia means "great" in Latin; it's also the Basque form of Mary.  Maya is a name that will work well globally, no matter where your daughter may travel.

Miley I do not like.  I think of Miley Cyrus.  Although I love the show Run's House and they recently named their little girl Miley so I don't hate it but I wouldn't choose it for a name.

Maya is gorgeous.  (I also like the spelling Maia.)  

Miley reminds me only of Miley Cyrus, which I guess isn't horrible, but still, it seems pretty much like naming your kid Madonna.  Yeah, it's Biblical and all, but the first person that immediately pops up in anyone's head these days is Madonna the singer lol.  Not to compare Miley with Madonna, but since her name is so distinctive and she's so huge right now, her name is exactly like Madonna's.

Maya... I don't dislike the miley cyrus, but the name reminds me of her because she is basically the first one with the name! So everyone would assumed the person was named after her. Maya is an elegant girly name! : )
