  1. I don't really care for either but of the two Dorothea because I can pronounce it!

  2. Dorothea was my great grandmothers name. It is lovely. I am so glad classic beautiful names are coming back. You can call her Dot, Dottie, Dorothy, or Thea for short.

  3. Personally, I don't care for Dorothea.  I am 46 and it sounds like a grandmother's name to me but younger mothers are choosing all types of older names these days.  Madeline was never popular before, but has become very popular.

My mother used to say you have to pick a name that YOU like and won't mind calling down the street at dinner time! (those were the olden days...)

  4. i dont understand the question and i wont respond to it.

  5. I like Dorothea. I think it's more likely to be pronounced correctly if you've never heard it before, and Thea is a cute nickname!

  6. i prefer Melisande it sounds really pretty ..

i just dont get dorothea what kind of name is that? just wondering//

  7. I like Melisande, but they'll end up calling her Mel or Melisa. Dorothea is too old lady for a little girl.

  8. I like Melisande, it's exotic and very unique. Her nickname could be Mel.

  9. Neither Dorothea will get the nickname Dhotti and Melisande I don't even know what that is so why would you do that to your child SERIOUSLY PEOPLE

  10. Dorothea

  11. I like Dorothea. Dot and Thea are cool nicknames, and with a name that long you'd want a good nickname.

  12. Melisande is quite a beautiful name.

    Dorothea - not so much.

I think the name Dorothy is absolutely dreadful!

    Just my opinion.

  13. Mel-lih-sawn-day? ewwwwww!
