I am writing a story, but I don't know what names would suit the character best. She is a 16 year old girl with long, brown, curly hair. Short to average height, with olive skin, honey brown eyes, a slim frame, and small b*****s. Pretty and "exotic" looking. She is smart, kind, quite quiet and shy, but fun loving and animated when she feels comfortable.

Which of these names would be best:

-Jocelyn

-Pippa

-Sophie

-Irini

-Daphne

-Stella

-Ione (eye-OWN-ee)

-Marina

-Wynn

-Keri

-Brynn

-Calla

-Eiry (EYE-ree)

-Seren (SARE-inn)

-Selina

Thanks!

  1. Calla or Selina.

    I also like Iona (EE-Oh-Nah)

  2. I actually had a character similar to that in one of my stories, both personality-wise and looks wise, and I called her Evelyn, which seems fitting to me.

I like Stella and Brynn for her out of your choices.

    Hope I helped!!

  3. Pippa or Jocelyn, for a book character. I write as well, and it's important to have a character name that people will know how to pronounce, so I'd get rid of Ione, Eiry, and Seren.

By your description, I think Pippa would suit her best.

    Good luck!

  4. I think Seren fits her perfectly! Calla is nice too...

  5. I like Calla

  6. i love Sophie

  7. i like marina

it sound like my daughter her name is louella

  8. I think Eiry is best but you can pick whatever your little heart desires.....good luck on the story!

  9. If i'm reading a book i wanna be able to pronounce the name with ease. So i'd say a girl with that description reminds me of a Daphne

  10. Sophie Fits perfectly !

Good luck with your story =D

  11. Since she's exotic-looking, I say something exotic, but not too hard to pronounce, let's look at: Pippa, Irini, Marina, Wynn, or Brynn.

The meaning of the name Pippa is Lover Of Horses

The origin of the name Pippa is English

The only "Irini" I found was extra-virgin olive oil.

    Marina- Origin: Latin

    Meaning: From the god Mars

    Wynn-(Welsh) "fair, white".

The Latin name Brynn means - from the boundary line

Judging from the symbolic nature of the names. The only name that would have anything to do with a darker-colored girl is Irini. The others would be names for pale girls, I'd stick with Irini unless you want something ironic, then go with Wynn!

  12. Irini sounds very different for a your story!

  13. pippa - like it because when reading it wouldn't be mispronounced & i think it suits her description

wynn - because it sounds whimsical & suits her description

  14. Keri

  15. Selina would be great, as it sounds like an exotic name. Marina would be great as well!

  16. I like Sophie, Stella but especially Keri!

    Hope this helps.

  17. Wynn, I love it, it's so different!  I guess you do know the name Wynn means "friend".

  18. i like daphne the best. keri will be my second choice because at first i was going to say carrie but keri is also good.

  19. The name will depend on the kind of story you are writing.

I think Ione, Wynn, Seren, and Eiry would be good ONLY in the fantasy genre... they are too fanciful for anything else.

  20. laila or stella

  21. i think selina or stella

  22. Sounds like a

    Keri

    xx

  23. i think the name Sophie suits her the best.

  24. I like Selina. I love how you described her, it really painted a picture in my head.

  25. i like sophie. u shouldn't choose an unusual name cuz than people think u r showing off ur writing talents. try to make it realistic. i have a lot of excperience, don't use wierd names! good luck with ur story!!!!
