  1. BNSF, Union Pacific, Canadian National, and Canadian Pacific all are huge railroads that have lines in Wisconsin.  BNSF and UP generally run west of Wisconsin, while CN and CP run north into Canada where they stretch from coast to coast.  The CN also has a line running south through Chicago all the way to New Orleans.  The three other major North American railroads, CSX, Norfolk Southern, and Kansas City Southern don't run through Wisconsin as far as I know.  CSX and NS primarily own track from Chicago eastward.  KCS runs in the region between Missouri and Texas.

    If you want to see exactly what routes each railroad owns, the best place to look is probably their corporate websites.  They should all have system maps there.

  2. none start in Wisconsin.

    * Kansas City Southern (KCS)
