Masala originated in India, but some will claim that it originated in Bangladesh.

Garam Masala is a premade mixture of spices that can be used to marinate any poultry, fish, lamb or tofu dishes.

The most popular westernised dish is the Chicken Tikki Masala which is chunks of chicken marinated with spices & yogurt, baked in a tandoor oven in a masala sauce (typically a mild sauce). The base of the sauce can vary, usually it is a tomato base with either cream or coconut cream then served with basmati rice.
