  1. Dad: Irish, Scottish, English and German

Mom: Polish, English, German, Irish, French, Native American, Scottish, Italian, and possibly African

  2. Im a British citizen

My dad is English, Lowland Scots with possibly some French

My Mother is English, Highland Scots and Irish

  3. I believe that my Mom's decendants were English and Dutch and my Dad's.....Welsh..

  4. If you mean nationality, both my parents are 100 percent American.  All of my great grandparents were living in Texas by the 1880s.

If you mean ethnicity, my mother forebearers were predominantly Highland Scots who intermarried with the English who came to Virginia shortly after Jamestown as well as marrying early [New Amsterdam] Dutch settlers.  A maternal great grandfather immigrated from Canada, but his parents had immigrated there from Ireland. My dad is primarily descended from both Highland and Lowland Scots and Scots-Irish (Ulster-Irish) ancestors, but has some English, Welsh, and Huguenot French antecedents.

Upon tracing both sides of my family back to Scotland, I've discovered that my mom and dad are very distant cousins. No only that, but my paternal grandparents are distant cousins as well.  All my grandparents, of course, had no idea of these relationships and could only tell me the states their parents had come from before the American Civil War.  In most cases, a family bible had entries back to the early 1800s.  Then again, my paternal grandparents being married at a Presbyterian manse was a very good clue to their ethnic background.

  5. They are both the same nationality as me!

  6. mom--scotch/ Irish

    Dad-english

  7. Dad: mexican, spanish, philipino

    Mom: mexican, spanish

  8. My mums side of the family is Irish/Itallian

    My dads side is Irish/English:

So yes we have gingers in the family haha

  9. My dad is German & English (but our German surname & family name can be traced back to the late 1770's here in the USA).

My mom is Czech & Irish/English.  Her czech side has only been here since about the early 1900's and the English side we can trace back to 1826 in the USA.

  10. My mother is German with only one ancestor recorded to be Native American.

My father is Irish, Scottish, Mexican

  11. Scottish, both. That doesn't make me Scottish, as I live in England. It's stupid to say that because your parents are, oh I dunno, Irish that your are, because if you are born in Japan then you are Japanese aren't you?

  12. Dad is Korean, mom is Irish. Interesting combo right? Wow, Italian, Irish, English, and French...how pretty!

  13. Nationality is the country in which you were born and if you are naturalized in another country then that country becomes your nationality.

Nationality is not the country from which your ancestors came.  Don't confuse nationality with ancestral heritage.

I would assume that your father has Italian citizenship, and your mother has citizenship in Ireland, England and France.  If so, I hope they don't vote in American elections.

I had ancestors in this country BEFORE the Mayflower, at Jamestown, Virginia(settlement in 1607 and 1608) and some people now state crossed an ice bridge from East Asia thousands of years ago and were here to greet the Vikings, the Spanish, the English, the French and even St. Brendan.  However, a person who is naturalized in a federal courthouse in the U.S. today, their nationality is just as American as mine.

Unfortunately, children,  grandchildren and great grandchildren of late 19th century and 20th century immigrants are referring to themselves like people of American colonial ancestry referred to their parents  grandparents and great grandparents as they didn't feel they were as American as they were.

  14. My dad is Cuban

My Mom is Irish,English and someone is full blooded Cherokee(a great grandfather) on my moms side and some people are Spanish on my dads side like the other answers I'm a Mutt!

  15. Norwegian for dad, mom was scottish, english, dutch, jewish

  16. Nationality? American! Their parents were American.

  17. Both my parents were Canadian, my father's heritage German, my mother's French. I've identified more than 1400 of my mother's ancestors, all of them back to the 17th Century, some of them further still. One of my 8th great-grandfathers was a chieftain of the Bear Clan of the Ouendat (Huron) Nation.

  18. German/Scandinavian

  19. My dad is Okinawan and my mom is Japanese though when I researched her history there may be possible Chinese, and some Hawaiian.

  20. Mine were both U.S. Citizens.

If you're talking ethnicity or heritage, the story gets far more complex, since many of their ancestors were Americans, but were English subjects until about 1776, or Dutch when they landed in 1638.

  21. Mother: Israeli, Irish, Scottish, English

Father: Native American, Irish, Scottish, Middle Eastern (unsure of country)
