What nationality r u?

i am american, born and raised in america. i have never left the u.s. and my friend was born in the u.s. and has been to europe a couple times, but he thinks hes a pure italian because his heritage. I keep telling him that he is messing up the definitions of nationality and heritage.how do i tell him that hes american not a pure italian

I'm an American...but I'm also 1/2 Italian, 1/4 Irish and 1/4 American Indian...he can be all Italian if both his parents are Italian...(then he's Italian American..)

im irish...only because i am BORN AND BRED here ..not beacuse my great great cousins aunties goldfish was born in ireland! lol

tell him straight out... this is proof from a european irish girl who has never been to the USA..and i can honestly say any native italian would say the same as me!

Well, he could have 100 percent Italian heritage, but if he was born in America, he is technically an American.

Since he was born in America and has American citizenship, he is American. My mom was born in Canada, but she moved to America when she was 3 and she considers herself an American.

That still makes him Italian though--why do you care if he calls himself that? I know it can get annoying at times because it wasn't born and raised in italy. Just tell him straight up! say that he's an amarican-italian? lol well i hope that helps!
