What if you are just visiting USA and deliver a baby there? Would that child be a US citizen or the citizen of the country the parents are?

  1. you got it. If they were born in the U.S in a U.S. hospital, they would be an American. If they went to their embassy and had the baby, they be what ever they were.

  2. The child would be the nationality of its parents. On its birth cert it would say subject of...Blah Blah land born overseas in the USA.

  3. They would be a citizen of the country where the parents are from. My cousin was born in the U.A.E but her parents wanted her to have US nationality so they went to the US embassy and explained the situation and it was all fine.

  4. Dual nationality!

If you are born US soil you have the right!

  5. Dual nationality !!

  6. The child would still be a citizen of the country the parents are registered to.

America thinks it can take EVERYTHING...but it can't take citizenship!!!

  7. The baby is in the lucky position of having dual nationalities.

They are American by birthright and they can also be registered as one or possibly both of their parents nationalities.

  8. any child born on the soil of the USA, is going to be a US citizen, and if the parents belong to a country that allows dual citizenship, the child would be able to have dual citizenship,if the parents apply for the other citizenship.

  9. It depends on the nationality of the mother.

  10. They might ask you if you are preggers before issuing a visa. They might ask you to declare any medical conditions including "pregnant".

Going to America to have a baby will not impress the medical staff at the hospital either.

  11. They would be a citizen of whichever country they live in. Their birth certificate would be American though, so I guess that makes their nationality American

  12. i think you get to decide because i know any baby born on us soil is american, but there might be some conflict if you dont want the baby to be american but like german instead if your visiting from german

  13. The child would be American and possibly also have citizenship in whatever country it's parents came from. It depends on the laws of the other country. :-)
