  1. Your nationality is that of the country you were born in.

Your parent's names, or where they were born, if they were born in different countries, has nothing to do with your own nationality.

  2. Well, there was Lewis & Clark, but that is meaningless.  With nothing concrete to go on, I will just say American.  My own surname is extant in more than 30 countries; I am certain that Lewis is also extant in more than 30 countries.  I am unfamiliar with Mast, but sounds English.

  3. Wales,England,Ireland

  4. English/Irish?

    I hope I'm right

  5. American

  6. Tebs is right.  You are American.  That being said, "Lewis" is a name of Welsh origin.

I am not sure about "Mast" - if you google it, you can find a lot online about a name and its origins.  (It may be English, may be German.)

A good place to start is GenWeb - www.usgenweb.org

  7. Your nationality is whatever your citizenship is.  Your racial or ancestral heritage can be many things.  I had ancestors in this country before the Mayflower.  The Jamestown Virginia settlement was 13 years before. Also I have some Native American ancestry.  Still, anybody who receives naturallization in a federal courthouse today, their nationality is just as American as mine.

My maternal grandmother was a Lewis.  Sometimes it can be of English origin.  It can be of French Huguenot where Louis became Lewis when they immigrated to English speaking countries,  or it can be of Welsh origin from the name Llewellyn.    Frequently, the same surname is found in more than one national origin and people with the same surname are not necessarily related or shares ancestors even those of the same national origin.  Lewis is one of the most common names in the U. S.

Actually there was a Huguenot Lewis family that immigrated to Northern Ireland.  It is said John Lewis shot his Landlord (which meant he became Irish very quickly. All Irish wanted to shoot their landlords) and immigrated to Virginia.  One of his sons became a Brigadier General in the Continental Army.  My great great grandfather Lewis married a descendant of a Huguenot named Dumas.
