  1. First one needs to start with the basics, a good spiritual posture, meaning whoever and however you conduct your spiritual life, live up to the principles.  Then there is fresh air, exercise, sunshine, clean water, a well balanced diet, see www.hacres.com, for more on dietsand make sure you get proper rest, between the hours of 10:00 pm, and 2:00 am.  This is the time when you body does its healing, and renewing.  This is called the CIRCADIAN RHYTHM.  See www.mercola.com, for more information.  Then there is your social life.  Choose your friends well, positive friends.

Next there are the herbs, and the one that comes to mind is Ginkgo Biloba.  See www.naturalnews.com.

  2. Some of the most popular natural products for helping with mood are St. John's Wort, SAMe, 5-HTP (or Tryptophan), Rhodiola Rosea, and some stress-relievers like GABA or L-Theanine can help, too.

Aside from supplements, you can also try going out and doing things you enjoy, spending time with friends, or even having a good cry. If that's not enough to help, maybe talking it out with a trusted friend or an objective third-party person (like a counselor).

Just remember, even though you might feel bad, it's never as bad as it may feel. Everyone goes through tough times and we can all get through it... sometimes we just need a little extra help ;-) Good luck!

  3. Vit B complex can be helpful so I would start there.  Vit C as well to help lower free radicals.

Australian Bush Flower Essences Abund essences is kind of like optimism in a bottle and would have this high on my list when I am feeling down.

It is not a drug but an energy medicine and you can take it twice a day to have a more optimistic look on life.

IF feeling VERY down you can use the ABFE Emergency Essence and put 7 drops in a water bottle shake and sip every few minutes till that feeling passes and sip again when you are feeling bad again (you will see you need less and less over time)

  4. Depression is a serious disease..........even if you choose to take something natural, you need to do it under medical supervision.........not on the Internet.

Natural medications can actually make you more sick sometimes......

I tried St. John's Worth.......I thought I was going to die....

Be careful,  try to find  a homeopathic in your area that can help you.

  5. L-Theanine its in vitamin waters b-relaxed or in tablet form religion has nothing to do with it. think freely!!

  6. St. John's Wort has been very helpful for me.

  7. St Johns wort (SJW) is recommended by the German Commision and available on prescription. Elsewhere, doctors prefer to prescribe drugs with side effects - politics etc!!! Do bare in mind that as with any herbs,  SJW does not work for everyone and has to be avoided by those on certain medications because it increases drug metabolising enzymes (herb-drug interactions), which means that certain drugs metabolised by those enzymes pass through the system alot quicker. This can result in sub-therapeutic levels of drug. It can also increase the skins sensitivity to the sun so when on this herb you need to use a good sun cream if you go out in the sun. One herbal product that is recommended for depression that is not known to have herb-drug interactions is Rhodiola rosea (arctic root).

    Rhodiola rosea:

It is like the ginsengs and is likewise known as an adaptogen so helps your body meet the demands of stress: whether physical, emotional or mental. So is great for an energy boost and great for depression and mental well-being. It is actually said to work faster than SJW.

Make sure you get enough B vitamins (the anti-stress vitamins)  and magnesium (the anti-stress mineral). Deficiencies of either of these can result in depression, irrational thoughts, nervousness and mental and physical exhaustion.

If on prescription medication, always talk to a doctor or pharmacist first before taking herbal supplements.

    Best wishes.
