I'm just about 38 weeks. I've been dilated since 31 weeks. I'm 4cm now. I feel like I have menstrual cramps all the time. I'm Group B Strep positive. I've had a uti since about week 30 that's been treated several times and keeps coming back. I think it's spread to my kidneys, I keep having a throbbing in my mid back up to the base of my skull. Plus I've gained 11 lbs in two weeks without eating anything unusual or eating a lot. My doctor said that I'm fine because I'm not having regular contractions.

  1. I was induced when my baby's heart rate plummetted. You could be gaining the weight due to water retention. I swelled up like a blimp the last few weeks, then after I had the baby I peed the longest pee I've ever peed and practically deflated within a 2-3 day period. Best of luck hunny, it'll be over before you know it.

  2. As long as you and baby are both safe and not in danger, induction is not needed.  Trust your Dr.

  3. with my second pregnancy i tested positive for Beta Strep and my midwives made sure that i had at least two doses of the medication they give to help prevent it from getting to the baby.. I'm guessing because they feel like you are not in active labor you and the baby are ok.. have you told your doctor how much pain you are in...
