...in terms of safety, schools, hospitals, churches, recreation and business. My husband will be working in Regina starting October 2008 and we will be applying for immigration after 2 years (from the Philippines)...just need to know if we'll stick to this city or go somewhere else.

thanks!

  1. I have lived in Regina for almost all of my life and find it be a most interesting and safe place.

    There are three good neighborhoods in the southern part of the city:

    1 Lakeview (which has a large number of old, handsome houses),

    2.  Albert Park (which has a large number of relatively new, large houses) and;

    3. the combined neighborhoods of Whitmore Park and Hillsdale (which have a wide range of housing and a good quality of life and are very close to the University of Regina.)

    In the southeast part of the city, there are some very nice neighborhoods as well, but I personally find them to be a bit pretentious and stuffy. They are about two miles (three kilometres) from the center of the city.

    There are some excellent neighborhoods in the northwest part of Regina, but they are five or six kilometres from the the heart of the city. My personal recommendation as a longtime resident of the city are the southern neighbourhoods.

    If you have any other questions about Regina, please post them again on Yahoo Answers using the word "Regina" in the subject line and I shall do my best to answer them.
