What next after renting a vps?

I have developed a java web application. Since the coding is all done, i have decided to make it live. I was told the best hosting plan was a vps so i have rented one. now what next. How do i install tomcat on it and configure it to accept call on the domain name. I have a webmin panel, but i don't know anything about linux. I have seen the OS is Fedora Core. it looks like it will be interesting adventure but i don't know where to start. can someone point me in some direction??

  1. Web Control Panels are different based on your hosting provider and the kind of VPS software they are using. To do what you are hoping

    If you are familiar with Linux, it is very easy to do. But try the below options to see if you can do those from web interface.

    Installing Tomcat

    Almost all the providers give this package along with apache. If not, see if a tab called applications or packages or add-on packages. From there you can install apache/tomcat if it is allowed. Usually it is like a check-box and you have to apply/save at the bottom

    Domain

    Most of the web panels tend to have User, Domains, Applications and Stats tabs. See if you can see the domain option. Under that add your domain name. It should be self-explainatory.
