What non pre-existing conditions will allow me to get my cruise trip cancellation benefit?

I need to cancel my cruise in Jan. I have the insurance that has trip cancellation but it can only be for certain non pre-existing conditions. It doesn't specify in the policy wording what is an acceptable condition. Does anybody know what illnesses are acceptable?

  1. Contact the insurance company or travel agent or cruise line (whoever you got the policy from). Usually it is going to have to be an illness or death to you, your immedate family or the same for someone traveling with you in the same cabin. If you cannot get the insurance, call the cruise line and see if you can change the date of the cruise, it may cost you a little more but would be better than losing the whole thing.

  2. Read your policy - it must clearly state what is and is not covered.
