Question:

What not to wear while skiing??

would it be a bad idea to wear my normal cotton jacket that has faux fur while skiing? i dont have a ski jacket and im scared my other jacket will get ruined in the snow. will the fur get ruined? also its white so will the color ruin? and will i get way too cold? its a thick jacket but it's going to get wet right

  1. If you are skiing at an alpine resort your best bet would be to wear the heaviest layer that you own.  Cotton is a material that you definately do not want to wear while skiing as it is not very insulative and if it does get wet it will stay wet.  You may ask whomever you are skiing with if they own anything  waterproof or if they own an extra ski jacket.  Chairlift rides can be brutally painful if not dressed right.


  2. Stay away from cotton.  It probably won't get ruined, but if it gets wet, you'll freeze your @ss off.  (However, if it's not snowing, and you can stay on your feet- maybe it could work...)

    If money is an issue, try going to Old Navy-- they have some cheap coats that will work and won't cost a lot.  

    And don't even think about wearing jeans or cotton pants- you MUST get snow pants of some sort.  (And be sure not to tuck them into your boots- that's dorky.)
