What octane should I use for my Personal Water Craft?

For a Yamaha Wave Runner III (96) its suggested that I use an 87 octane in the owners manual, however several people told me that I should use a higher octane if i can afford the expense, its better for the engine. A mechanic told me the 93 is better to use, others tell me different. What do you think?

Yamaha know what they are talking about, go with 87.

yea just go with what they recommend

try to go straight from pump to tank

last summer with the higher prices i tried to get cheaper gas and pour it into the skis from a container and the ski ran pourly on the tanks from the gas containers
