What % of gas gets used for nonsense in the US??

Question

I mean what is you guess as to how much gas gets consumed for races, go carts, recreational boating, flying etc??? If we only used gas for getting to work, medical emergencies etc how much would we consume??

I ride a 4 wheeler in the mud on sundays. Apx 2 or 3 gallons of fuel. There are hundreds of people out there

Just because you don't enjoy doing something does not qualify it as "nonsense", especially to the literally millions upon millions of people who thoroughly enjoy racing, go-carts, recreational boating, flying, etc. If we only used gas for getting to work, medical emergencies, etc, it would be a pretty damned boring world.

Go fly a kite. It's fun entertainment that relies only upon solar-powered wind to accomplish (and a bit of skill). And if you walk instead of drive to wherever it is people fly kites in your area, you'll save on gas as well.

postal service should go to 4 or 5 days a week...and make delivery vehicals get good milage....where i live SW Verginia the PO contracts out and the people use whatever car/truck they own...some use big 4 x 4 s...but come on....nonsense?? pepple are gona drive as much as they can afford....
