It depends. Some charities have really efficient administrations, and some spend half of what they get on their own paycheques. Research before you donate.

That all depends on the company/organization that is handling the money.

Most organizations publicly reveal the money they receive and give. If they do not reveal that information to the public, they certainly do to the government (in order to get certain benefits and grants and to be registered as an official organization).

There are (quite) a few companies that will only give a small percentage for their supposed cause, but those usually get figured out quick and lose their support.
