Question:

What oils are good for sleep?

I'm trying out some aromatherapy for sleep. I've been having a bad couple of nights sleep, and I realized that I had a diffuser with lemon oil in it right next to my bed. I moved it out of the room completely last night to see if that had been effecting my sleep and I finally got a good night sleep. Now I intended to use the diffuser in my bedroom, but I need different oils. Something for sleep. What are your suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

  1. Lavender is always a good choice.

  2. use white flower ointment jusy put and rub to your fore head before you go to bed, beaucase the escent smell of that oint ment is really good .

  3. Sedative oils like Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Bergamot, ylang ylang, Patchouli and May Chang but personally will advice beginners to start of with Lavender. Have you tried it before? Most people have no problems with this oil but there are some who can't take the smell at all. Also, keep the number of drops up to 6. More doesn't mean it'll strengthen the effect. Sometimes, it may keep you awake instead. For heavier notes like Patchouli and Ylang Ylang, keep it to 3 drops as they tend to smell a great deal even with one drop and last quite a long period. Lemon is more for uplifting purposes. And please use only 100% pure essential oils from reputable brands.

  4. Lavender is great for relaxing.  You may even want to mix a few drops into some Sea Salt and Almond Oil and use in a Warm Bath before bed.

    - Be careful with Essential oils, they are very potent and can make you sick if you don't know what you are doing.

    - Also, try a relaxation CD - Rain or Thunderstorm is my favorite.

  5. Lavender

    Chamomile

    Marjoram

    Clary Sage

    Sandalwood

    Neroli

    Rose

    Ylang Ylang
