What old time radio children's show host got fired for saying "That oughta keep the little brats happy!"

My late father used to tell me about a children's show host on old time radio- 'Uncle Something-or-other' who got fired when he forgot his mike was on and said 'That'll keep the little brats happy!' After that show he wasn't on anymore- anyone remember who this was?

None. It never happened (as the first answerer mentions). It is an urban legend, and the word  was not "brats," it was a somewhat stronger word that started with 'B' ;<)

Supposedly the usual culprit when the story is told is Uncle Don, a very famous kid's show host. Plug that into any search engine and you'll find lots of references to it. Many people suffered some kind of mass hypnotic thing, because it really never happened, even though thousands of people swear they heard the broadcast in question.
