  1. If you watch the games for about 5 mins you should be able to pick up on the diffs (which are huge) unless you are an idiot.

  2. wat a stupid question,so r u saying u havent seen one of these sports in ur life and u want to c the difference.....get a life ya dooshbag! or are u blind.

  3. The big difference is in the way they compete for the balI.. In league there is no competition..unless you hit the guy so hard you dislodge it... so you get five cracks at it then you have to give it up..

In union there are massive competition ie. (rucks scrums lineouts..dislodges etc)..Though lately there is no competition for the ball....as it is constantly kicked away.

    This is the fundemental difference..

  4. Oh my ...... have you even watched the two sports....if you had maybe you would know the diff

  5. Another difference is that Rugby League was the first one to embrace proffessionalism, Rugby Union had to get dragged kicking and screaming into professionalism and the World cup in the 80's. Rugby League is very popular in Northern England and Australia, particularly New South Wales and Queensland.

  6. Try opening your eyes

  7. Rugby Union is good.

Only one country cares about league.

  8. Rugby League is played with 13 players and numbered backwards (13 is the loosehead prop and it goes back to 1 who is the full back).  The game lacks flankers.

The primary difference between rugby union and league is that union has the concept of contestion for the ball.  In rugby league, scrums are essentially uncontested since they are fed into the second row instead of between the opposing packs.  In addition, in league you get 6 tackles to score whereas rugby you get as long as you can maintain control of the ball.  Also, rugby league lacks rucks because there is no contestion between between teams during possession.

The play between sides tends to be vastly different with league play being pretty predictable with the first 4 or so passes going to the heavy forwards with lots of off loads then the last two passes going to the backs in desperate attempts to score.

Defensively, league has much more physical hits because there are essentially no rules to tackling whereas rugby union has specific ways to tackle opponents

Also the scoring is completely different.   A try is worth 4 pts and a conversion is worth 2 points bringing the total to 6 points for a converted try.  Penalty goals are also worth two points.  A drop goal is worth 1 point.

  9. There is not much difference between them but union is more for the strong guys while league is for the back doing trickes and breaks which is more exiting to watch.

  10. League you get the ball and run at the defender! It doesnt matter how many people are commited because tey dont vary play like passing it out the back! It is basically imposable to lose the ball in the tackle unless u knock it on and it cant be ripped out of your hands! There are no rucks(when people contest for the ball after someone is tackles), no contested scrums(when somone knocs the ball on or it goes forward) lineouts are not contested either! so people cant use their toach kicking to there advanage like alot of rugby union teams do e.g. Munster! There isnt as much organisation in defence in league as their is in union! And in league most tackles are higher so the attacker cant offload the ball! Rugby league is a good laugh to play because it isnt as organised! But it is fairly rubish to watch because theres no variations in attack!
