Why would denver get rid of marcus camby honestly man .

whos gonna replace him nene?? his no way near good enough . you have two franchise players on the team , one with his carrer nearing an end , i dont think this is the right time for them to start rebuilding . IVERSON came to the team to win a championship not to wait 3 -4 yrs for the team to build up .

It came down to whether they wanted to keep camby or J.R. Smith because they coudln't keep both and stay under the salary cap. They decided on J.R. Smith. I probably would have made the same decision too given camby's age and contract. I am more confused why the clippers wouldn't have made a play for josh smith or okafor because they probably could have still gotten camby in a week if atlanta or charlotte matched their offer.

They are completely handcuffed by the luxury tax.

Camby is 34, and though the fans won't like it, the Nuggets needed to trim their payroll to closer to $70 million.

They are calling it a "chess move" and may allow them to sign another player in the future.
