Question:

What on earth is the new Carlton Draught Angry anderson NRL advert about?

Ok, I get it, It's Angry Anderson. It's cars. It's some runner and her old man in the back of a car. It's "1991 was not our year". It's beer. And football.

WTF?

This advert drives me mad, does anyone have a clue what it means?

And has anyone been motivated to buy beer or watch football because of it?

Thanks :-)

  1. Asterix nailed it right on the head there.

  2. its all about a stuffed up year

The grand final was played at Waverly the song was c**p the cars were c**p

we have the same ad in adelaide exept its an AFL ad

  3. The advert that is broadcast in NSW is (I would assume) the same ad - featuring the 1991 AFL grand final.

So the joke that most people from VIC & SA would get, would be lost on states like NSW and QLD.

Its not like many people in Sydney really followed AFL (like they do now) in those days - so the ad is a waste of time+money for people in NSW as no-one could really care less that Carlton was the sponsor of a lame AFL grand final that wasnt played at the MCG and had Angry Anderson as the headline act.

It would be like promoting an all time blunder in an NSWRL grand final (1908-1994) to Victorians who would be asking the very same question... "what the h**l is that all about?"

  4. We don't get NRL where I am but I would say  Angry, beer ,NRL and a car can't be a good combination.

  5. Haven't seen it, no NRL in W.A.

  6. Well if he's promoting the NRL, only people with an IQ of 15 and under will understand it.
